Overview
The Roland VersaOBJECT EU2-1000MF is a large-format UV-LED flatbed printer built for direct-to-board production. It prints straight onto rigid boards up to 1,220 × 2,440 mm and 95 mm thick, so sign and display makers can skip roll printing, laminating and mounting and cut out finishing steps.
The EU2 is the new generation of Roland's EU-1000MF platform. Roland quotes up to 1.5× faster print speeds, and the printer is set up at installation as either a four-colour model with four print heads (CMYK) or a six-colour model with six print heads (CMYK, white and gloss). It suits print shops producing signage, exhibition panels, retail displays and interior panels in volume.
Direct-To-Board Printing on Full-Size Sheets
Load boards up to 2,440 × 1,220 mm (96 × 48 in.), 95 mm (3.74 in.) thick and 45 kg/m². The standard printable area is 2,440 × 1,120 mm, and a service engineer can adjust it to the full 2,440 × 1,220 mm. Roland lists PETG, PVC board, foam board, wood, corrugated board and aluminium plate among suitable substrates.
Four or Six Staggered Print Heads
A staggered four- or six-head layout and the new-generation flatbed platform deliver stable, repeatable output at up to 720 × 1,200 dpi, with stabilised curing and automated media control for long production runs.
Economical E-US UV Inks
E-US UV inks come in cyan, magenta, yellow, black, white and gloss. The 2.5 L ink tanks can be refilled from 1 L bottles while the printer is running, an LCD display shows ink levels in real time, and automatic agitation stops the white ink from settling. The inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified, so graphics are suitable for indoor environments such as retail and hospitality spaces.
Electronic Four-Zone Vacuum Bed and Alignment Pins
Digitally controlled vacuum zones hold full sheets or part panels without manual adjustment: switch on only the zones you need. Positive air pressure helps move heavy, thick panels during loading, and pop-up alignment pins place each board at the print origin at the touch of a button for repeatable set-up.
Liquid-Cooled UV-LED Lamps
Liquid cooling keeps curing stable during extended print runs, for a consistent surface finish across long production cycles.
Head Protection, Anti-Static Control and Safety
Media collision detection and automatic height sensing protect the print heads and speed up set-up, while an integrated ionisation system reduces static. Four emergency stops, a gantry safety panel and a detection beam protect the operator. Industrial casters with levelling and a side table for the control PC complete the production set-up.
VersaWorks 7 RIP Included
VersaWorks 7 RIP software handles colour management, job layout and white and gloss ink layers, helping you reproduce brand colours accurately and consistently.

FAQ
What size and thickness of board can the EU2-1000MF print on?
The bed takes boards up to 2,440 × 1,220 mm (96 × 48 in.), up to 95 mm (3.74 in.) thick and up to 45 kg/m². The printable area is 2,440 × 1,120 mm as supplied; a service engineer can adjust it to the full 2,440 × 1,220 mm.
Should I choose the four-colour or six-colour configuration?
The four-colour set-up uses four print heads with CMYK E-US inks and covers standard colour panel work. The six-colour set-up uses six print heads and adds white and gloss ink layers, which VersaWorks 7 manages for work such as transparent acrylic graphics and gloss effects. The configuration is chosen at installation, so DPI Technology can help you decide based on the jobs you plan to run.
How does the EU2-1000MF differ from the original EU-1000MF?
The board size, 95 mm thickness, 2.5 L E-US ink tanks and 1,300 kg weight are the same. The EU2 adds a four-colour, four-head option alongside six colours, raises the maximum resolution from 720 × 900 dpi to 720 × 1,200 dpi, and Roland quotes up to 1.5× faster print speeds. It also brings liquid-cooled UV-LED lamps, an electronic four-zone vacuum bed, automatic alignment pins, anti-static ionisation and VersaWorks 7. The frame is slightly wider at 4,750 mm against 4,556 mm.
What do I need to prepare on site?
Plan for an AC 220 V, 50/60 Hz, 32 A supply (approx. 5,900 W during operation) and a floor area of at least 7,000 × 5,000 mm. The printer weighs 1,300 kg and should run at 18 to 25 °C and 40 to 70 %RH without condensation.
Are the E-US inks suitable for indoor graphics?
Yes. Roland states that E-US UV inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified, supporting graphics for sensitive indoor environments such as retail, hospitality and commercial interiors.
