Overview
Engrave, Mark and Mill In-House
The range covers three jobs. The DE-3 rotary engraver cuts text and logos into engraving plastics, brass, aluminium, acrylic and more for awards, signs and nameplates. The VersaSTUDIO MPX-90S marks metal by impact printing, adding text, logos and even photographs with no dust or shavings. The SRM-20 and MDX-50 mill three-dimensional shapes for prototypes, jigs, moulds and small parts.
Every machine comes with Roland DG software for preparing jobs. DPI installs it, trains your operators and supports it locally, so engraving and milling sit alongside your printing and cutting work.

Questions About Engraving and Milling
Should I choose the DE-3 or the MPX-90S for metal?
The DE-3 cuts into the surface with a rotating cutter, so it suits engraving plastics, plates and signs, and deeper lettering on brass and aluminium. The MPX-90S does not cut: it marks by striking the surface with a diamond-tipped pin, which suits photos, fine detail and precious metals, with no dust or shavings. The metal must be 200 HV or softer.
What is the difference between the SRM-20 and the MDX-50?
The SRM-20 is a compact desktop mill with a 203.2 × 152.4 × 60.5 mm working range, ideal for small prototypes, classrooms and makerspaces. The MDX-50 is a larger benchtop machine with a 400 × 305 × 135 mm working range, a five-tool automatic tool changer and an optional rotary axis for longer, unattended jobs.
Can these machines mill or engrave hard metals like steel?
No. The SRM-20 and MDX-50 are built for resins, modelling wax, chemical wood, foam and similar materials, and Roland states the MDX-50 does not support metal. For metal, the DE-3 engraves brass, aluminium, copper, gold and silver, and the MPX-90S marks metals up to 200 HV.
Can I see a sample before I buy?
Yes. Send us your design and material and we will arrange a test engraving, metal marking or milling sample on the right machine.
