Overview
The Roland VersaOBJECT LO series is a production UV-LED flatbed printer for printing directly onto boards, rigid and flexible substrates and 3D objects up to 242 mm high. It comes in two sizes that share the same print engine, inks and features: the 64-inch LO-640-F3, with a maximum print area of 1,520 × 2,450 mm, and the 30-inch LO-300-F2, with 656 × 1,450 mm. Both print at up to 1,200 dpi with ECO-UV EUV5P ink.
It is the high-productivity model in Roland DG's LO/CO-i family, aimed at larger batches and shorter turnaround times.
Two Staggered Print Heads
Two print heads arranged in a staggered formation give the LO its speed. Roland DG quotes 5.0 m²/h on the LO-640-F3 and 3.4 m²/h on the LO-300-F2 for one-pass white plus CMYK printing, roughly three times the throughput of the CO-i series.
Objects Up To 242 mm High
The vacuum bed is standard and takes objects up to 242 mm high and 100 kg/m². The vacuum also has a blow function that floats light or thin items off the table, making them easier to position or remove.
Seven Ink Configurations
EUV5P ink comes in 750 ml pouches and nine inks (CMYK, red, orange, white, gloss and primer), in seven configurations. Red and orange extend the gamut for brand colours, gloss adds varnish and embossed effects, white gives underprints on dark or clear materials, and primer improves adhesion. Roland DG states that ECO-UV5 inks are GREENGUARD Gold certified.
White And Colour In One Pass
The head layout is set at installation, white-to-colour by default. With back-feed printing, either order can still be printed in one pass, as the gantry moves to the rear automatically.
Distance Mode For Curved Objects
Generic Distance mode prints onto curved or recessed surfaces with a height variation of up to 4.6 mm, such as bottles, golf balls, trays or the inside of phone cases. Test each object before production.
Faster, Simpler Set-Up
A laser pointer sets the origin point, and a touch panel on the table controls the gantry, vacuum, blower and ioniser and stores coordinates for repeat jobs. A 7-inch touch panel on the gantry shows the remaining print time. Blank areas wider than 125 mm are skipped to save time.
Built-In Ioniser And Safety Features
An ioniser in the gantry reduces static, which can cause misting and blurred prints. Emergency stop switches and a signal beacon showing printer status are standard.
Software Included
VersaWorks 7 is included, with automatic special-colour generation, texture libraries and variable data printing. Roland DG Connect monitors the printer and ink use, and the optional PrintAutoMate maps artwork onto objects in a printing jig.

FAQ
What is the difference between the LO-640-F3 and the LO-300-F2?
They share the same print heads, inks, ink configurations, 242 mm object height, 100 kg/m² load and features. The LO-640-F3 accepts objects up to 1,625 mm wide and prints up to 1,520 × 2,450 mm at 5.0 m²/h (one pass, white > CMYK), with two vacuum pumps. The LO-300-F2 accepts objects up to 762 mm wide and prints up to 656 × 1,450 mm at 3.4 m²/h, with one vacuum pump. The LO-640-F3 is also larger (2,901 × 3,457 mm) and heavier (920 kg) than the LO-300-F2 (2,037 × 2,430 mm, 526 kg).
How does the LO series differ from the CO-i series?
Roland DG presents them as one LO/CO-i flatbed family with the same 242 mm object height, 100 kg/m² load, ink colours and seven ink configurations, Distance Mode and VersaWorks workflow. The LO is the high-productivity model: it uses two staggered print heads and 750 ml EUV5P pouches, and reaches 5.0 m²/h on the LO-640-F3 against 1.6 m²/h on the CO-640i-F3, at up to 1,200 dpi. The CO-i is the economy model, with 500 ml and 220 ml EUV5 cartridges and a maximum resolution of 1,440 dpi. The CO-i also has a slightly larger print area (1,612 × 2,500 mm on the CO-640i-F3).
Which ink configurations are available?
Seven, all using ECO-UV EUV5P ink in 750 ml pouches: CMYKReOrWhGl (eight colours), CMYKReOrWhWh, CMYKReOrWhPr, CMYKReWhGlPr, CMYKWhWhGlPr, CMYKWhGlWhGl and CMYKCMYK (four colours). The print head layout, white-to-colour or colour-to-white, is set at installation.
Can the LO print on curved or uneven objects?
Yes. Generic Distance mode in VersaWorks uses a longer jetting distance for non-flat, cylindrical, spherical or recessed items, with a height variation of up to 4.6 mm. Acceptable quality depends on the object and the application, so Roland DG recommends a test print before production.
What power and environment does the LO need?
Both models need a 230 V 16 A 2P+E supply. Roland DG recommends an earth leakage breaker rated at 300 mA or more, because the motors and blowers draw a brief overcurrent at start-up. The operating environment is 20 to 32 °C and 35 to 80% RH without condensation.
