Overview
The Roland VersaSTUDIO BN2-30 is a 30-inch desktop eco-solvent printer/cutter that prints and contour cuts in one compact device. It takes media from 150 to 762 mm wide, giving it room for A-frame sign graphics and standard garment-size heat transfers that a 20-inch machine cannot fit, while still sitting on a desktop. It can be set up for four-colour CMYK or five-colour CMYK plus white printing with 220 ml ECO-SOL MAX 2 or ECO-SOL MAX 3 ink cartridges.
Compact Footprint With Full Front Access
The BN2-30 needs a working area of only 1,544 × 885 mm. Every operation, from loading media to routine maintenance, is carried out from the front of the machine, so it can be placed against a wall or in a small studio.
Professional Print Quality
The BN2-30 uses the same type of print head and eco-solvent inks as Roland DG's wide-format printers, with a maximum printing resolution of 1,440 dpi. A built-in multi-sensor automatically reads test patterns and applies media gap and calibration corrections, so operators get consistent results without manual fine-tuning.
Solenoid-Driven Contour Cutting And Perforation Cut
The cutting carriage uses solenoid drive, cutting at 10 to 150 mm/s with a blade force of 30 to 500 gf, and supports overcut for thicker materials and sharp corners. The BN2-30 also has the urethane cutter protection used on the VG3 and SG3 printers, which allows perforation cutting for stickers and decals that separate easily from the sheet.
White Ink For More Applications
In the CMYKWh configuration the printer can lay white under or over colour on clear film. White ink is circulated automatically at set intervals to prevent the pigment settling.
Easy Media Handling
An automatic suction fan holds the media during loading to help prevent skewing, the left and right pinch rollers can be moved to suit different widths, and detachable media clamps stay in place during sheet cutting. A built-in automatic sheet cutter separates finished jobs.
Simple Software And Cloud Monitoring
The printer has a single power button with a multi-colour status LED, with all settings made in the BN2 Utility on Windows or Mac. It comes with bundled design and output software, runs with the VersaWorks 7 RIP, and connects to Roland DG Connect for monitoring ink levels, waste liquid and job history from a computer or smart device.

FAQ
How does the BN2-30 differ from the BN2-20?
The BN2-30 takes media from 150 to 762 mm wide (BN2-20: 150 to 515 mm), prints and cuts up to 736 mm wide (BN2-20: 480 mm) and holds rolls up to 12 kg (BN2-20: 6 kg). It also adds perforation cutting, VersaWorks 7 and Mac support, and a faster maximum CMYK print speed (6.00 m²/h against 4.19 m²/h).
Can the BN2-30 print white ink?
Yes. The BN2-30 can be set up for CMYK or CMYKWh. In the five-colour configuration it prints white under or over colour, for example on clear film, and circulates the white ink automatically to stop it settling.
Which inks does the BN2-30 use?
The BN2-30 uses Roland DG ECO-SOL MAX 2 or ECO-SOL MAX 3 eco-solvent ink in 220 ml cartridges; 500 ml cartridges cannot be used. These are the same type of eco-solvent inks as Roland DG's wide-format printers, set up as four-colour CMYK or five-colour CMYK plus white. DPI supplies genuine stock as an authorised distributor.
Can I cut stickers with perforations on the BN2-30?
Yes. The BN2-30 supports perforation cut, made possible by its urethane cutter protection, as well as perforated sheet cut with VersaWorks 7 Ver. 7.00 or later. The BN2-20 and BN2-20A do not support perforation cut.
Which maintenance tasks can I do myself?
The wiper, felt wiper, cap top, blade and separating knife are user-replaceable. The BN2 Utility displays a message when the wipers or cap top are due for replacement and shows on-screen instructions for each job; the covers open without screws.
