Welcome to our comprehensive guide for operating and exploring the diverse applications of Roland TrueVIS printers and cutters. Whether you own the TrueVIS VG2 series, SG2 series, or other models, this resource is designed to help you harness the full potential of your printing and cutting capabilities. Below, you'll find essential tips and insights to enhance your workflow and expand your creative possibilities.

Getting the best from your Roland TrueVIS printer/cutter

  1. Set up media in VersaWorks. Choose the media profile that matches your material so ink, drying and cut settings are correct.
  2. Use True Rich Color. The True Rich Color preset gives vivid colour with neutral greys and natural skin tones.
  3. Print and cut in one pass. Add a cut contour in VersaWorks; the printer prints crop marks and cuts the contour after printing.
  4. Run daily maintenance. Use the printer's cleaning routines and keep the wiper and cap areas clean, as Roland's maintenance guide describes.
  5. Monitor remotely. Roland DG Connect shows printer status, ink levels and maintenance alerts from your phone or computer.

Which ink fits which TrueVIS model

  • TrueVIS VG4: TR3 ink (D-EA2 in designated emerging markets).
  • TrueVIS VG3: TR2 ink.
  • TrueVIS VG-640/540 and SG-540/300: TR2 or TE2 ink after the ink conversion.
